August 2017- May 2018
As the technical manager of the POROI online journal, I work to edit and inclusively format the articles prior to publication, and act as a liaison between the editor, the authors, and the readers. I work with editing the HTML of previous issues, managing the journal’s Twitter account, and maintaining the listerv using MailChimp. I also created the Graduate Student Handbook for future technical editors and wrote a grant proposal to redesign our website.
January 2017- May 2018
On Hack Library School, I write monthly articles and contribute to weekly blog posts about my professional and personal experiences as a graduate student, in order to help other students navigate their own programs. I also edit and give feedback on other articles written for the blog. My articles focus on a range of topics, from tips on choosing classes, to mental health, to the benefits of interdisciplinary studies. Read my articles here.

I read and selected plays, attended weekly staff meetings, and planned literary readings at venues such as Prairie Lights Bookstore. I conceived of and executed the first Staged Reading Series to showcase the literary merit of short plays in University of Iowa’s undergraduate Theater Department.
